Time for a mid year review in 2020 because it is June already. I can’t believe how fast time flies. A lot have happened during this last six months around the world. Some of them certainly have had impacts on my personal life.
A mid year review is very handy to check how life is going. It is also a motivating way for me to get back in track with my life. Earlier this year I have mapped out where I want my life to go with four focal points; wellness, career, finance and travel. I also broke them down into smaller goals.
If you want to read how I mapped out my life into 20 goals for 2020, click here.
Now let’s see how I’ve been getting so far.
Weight Loss Journey
I expected to lose some weight this year.
As much as I am comfortable with my body, my current weight is unhealthy for me because I’ve been suffering severe back pain all the time as a result of the extra load on my frame.
My goal was to lose 5kgs in the first three months of the year and lose more 5 kgs in the following three months. So far I have only lose 3kgs. Lol!
The corona pandemic is definitely hindering me. I was reluctant to workout or be mindful about what I eat. World circumstances is really disheartening.
My trick to get back on track was to adjust workout routine as mood booster. I incorporated a 15,000-steps daily walks and yoga to uplift myself.
Although I’ve been slacking, I am confident that with careful planning I will be able to achieve my goal weight.
I have been gratitude journaling for quite some time now so I have no problem writing it daily.
Reading And Skill Developing
I didn’t read books as much as I want or try more new classes each month. I’m sure I’ll be able to do so eventually as soon I am accustomed to all these world changes.
There are millions of classes offered online now so it should be easier to attend classes and expand one’s skills.
A phone-free day a week is something that I have grown into the habit of. Now that I’m used to it, it is so liberating to have one day away from my phone. I use this day to walk, cook, write or anything that I love to do without any distractions at all.
To tell you the truth, I wasn’t aware that blogging has been a bit neglected. Current world events lately are disturbing for me. This mid year review made me realised I hadn’t spend as much time developing this blog as I should’ve. But I did managed to write a few posts in the past months.
All I have to do is focus more on this blog. I’m certain I will be inspired to write more posts in the future.
Creating a business is one goal that I have unlocked this year. In the midst of world pandemic, my husband and I managed to launch our small business.
We started a food business specialising in ready-to-cook products to facilitate those who have difficulty preparing their own home cook meals.
I will write about this in another blog post.
With the world pandemic going around, needless to say all of my financial goals are taking a hit right now. I can’t talk more about this as I’m still trying to find the best financial strategy to survive. I’m sure most of you are experiencing the same thing too.
I try not to worry too much about it as I’m confident I will find a way to adapt this situation. All I have to do is adjust these goals.
Clearly I postponed all travel plans for obvious reason. Better be safe than sorry. I didn’t even get the chance to renew my passport before the pandemic hits.
As a person who truly enjoy traveling, the travel restrictions during world pandemic is really disappointing. But I understand how essential it is to stop virus spread. Let’s hope things would improve real soon so we are all able to travel again.
You can see that I didn’t achieve most of my goals by mid year. But I try not to worry about it. 2020 turned out to be the year of uncertainty. However, whatever we are facing we should not be discouraged by it.
Have the ability to adapt and adjust your life to changes. It will surely help walk your path of life.
How about you? How is your mid year review? Have you achieve most of your goals?
