The Open House Bali was such a hidden gem. Whenever I go to Bali I prefer to stay at small intimate hotels that doesn’t cost my whole bank account. I found this eco friendly boutique hotel while I was searching for accommodations during my Java-Bali Touring in November 2019.
The Open House Bali is at Jl. Pemelisan Agung, about 10 minutes away from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport, and approximately 20m away to Jimbaran Beach.
It is a small, two-storey hotel that housed only seventeen rooms. Parking space is available with enough room for about two or three cars. Plenty of room for motorcycles, too.
Overall the hotel feels very welcoming, cozy and intimate. The staff greeted us upon arrival and quickly offered welcome drinks and cold towels to freshen up with. Such a relief since we just traveled 189kms on a 400kgs motorcycle under scorching hot sun. The drinks were so delicious!
It didn’t take long when they escorted us into our designated room.
The rooms at The Open House Bali are all suites. They are open plan, very spacious, well-lit, fitted with air conditioner and ceiling fan. There are also flat TV and a dvd player. You can bring your own movies or select some that are at your disposal at the 24 hour front desk. Every room has a beach bag, pouch and straw hats for guests to bring to the beach. I love that I don’t have to bring my own beach bag.
Shower and toilet area are not completely enclosed. Friends sharing the room might find it be a bit uncomfortable. I was also concerned that there are no spray hose or spray nozzle in the toilet. Just like most Indonesians, I am more comfortable washing myself after toilet business. This problem was quickly solved by the hotel kindly supplying me with a bucket for water.
Each room at The Open House Bali has its own terrace or balcony over looking the pool area. It was lovely to sit there every afternoon with my husband.
And of course I have an IGTV room tour here on my instagram handle. I hope it will give you some ideas of how the room looks like.
Albeit small, the hotel has its own restaurant. Everyday you get to choose a dish from their wide selection of full breakfast menu. Everyday I tried a different dish. Each of them delightful.
There is a pool of adequate length equipped with outdoor chaise lounge. Great for a morning workout before you go exploring Bali.
There is also a spa and a library where I spent most afternoon blogging before I head to Jimbaran beach to catch the sunset. The library has quite a collection of books.
I booked my room through Traveloka and got the price of IDR. 1.120.000,-/room/night (breakfast included). You can check out the hotel’s current price through their website.
Staying at The Open House Hotel was such a treat for me. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I very much enjoyed every day of my stay there. I would really love to go back one day.
